Jeremy Cannon, a farmer from Clarendon County, will testify before a Senate committee this Friday in Columbia on the recent flooding and its impact on his farm. Members of the South Carolina congressional delegation are expected to receive testimony.
We are urging fellow farmers to travel to Columbia and support Jeremy while he gives his testimony.
This is an important opportunity for farmers to demonstrate to our congressional leaders the devastating impact that the flooding has imposed on agriculture. The window for congressional action is closing, and we must share our stories with our elected officials.
The Hearing will be held Friday, December 4, 2015 at City Hall, 1737 Main Street, Columbia, SC in the third floor Council Chambers and will begin at 10:00 a.m.
If you can attend, please let us know.
In addition to attending the hearing, we need farmers to place phone calls, write letters and Facebook posts, and send photos to the SC congressional delegation.
