State representatives, senators and South Carolina Farm Bureau are continuing to work together to bring relief to South Carolina farmers.
The House of Representatives voted 95-6 to pass House Bill 4717, the Palmetto Farm Aid Fund, which creates a grant program to provide relief for farmers that suffered more than 40% crop loss during the historic floods in October 2015.
The bill has moved to the Senate, where it was given favorable approval by the Senate Finance Committee and awaits a vote on the Senate floor.
The legislative process isn’t quick, and farmers are still hurting. That’s why we’d like to thank these senators who have consistently shown their support for farmers on the Senate floor:
If you don’t see your Senator’s name on this list, let them know you expect them to support the farmers that feed South Carolina.
